Senior Legal Fellow
Laura Wnek serves as a senior legal fellow at Mellon.
Laura was senior vice president, head of the Fiduciary Client Group at Sotheby’s, where she advised attorneys, bankers, family offices, and private clients on the valuation and disposition of fine art and collectibles. Before joining Sotheby’s, Laura served as deputy general counsel at the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, where she provided legal and strategic advice on programmatic, legislative, and policy initiatives to fund and support nonprofit arts and cultural organizations.
Laura began her legal career as an associate at Herrick, Feinstein LLP, where she worked on complex commercial litigation and art law matters.
Laura holds a JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a BA in art history from New York University.
