Thanya Polonio-Jones

Thanya Polonio-Jones serves as Senior Associate General Counsel at Mellon.

Thanya comes from the Center for Reproductive Rights, where she served as associate general counsel and advised the organization on a variety of nonprofit legal and compliance matters, including managing organizational risk, governance, intellectual property, grants, communications, and employment law. Before her time at CRR, Thanya was a vice president at Goldman Sachs, where she led the executive office compliance team and co-chaired the firm's legal and compliance pro bono committee.

Thanya started her legal career at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in their exempt organizations practice. Prior to attending law school, Thanya was a graphic designer at the LEGO toy company.

Thanya holds a JD from Columbia Law School and a BA in comparative literature from Brown University.
