Tony Kopetchny

Director of Business Systems

Tony Kopetchny is the director of business systems, overseeing the implementation and management of major technology solutions. He collaborates across departments to enhance business processes and advance the Foundation's comprehensive digital transformation initiatives.

Prior to joining Mellon, Tony co-founded a boutique consultancy that guided prominent nonprofits and foundations through strategic technology initiatives, including developing roadmaps, governance frameworks, and change management strategies. Throughout his career in nonprofit technology, he held leadership roles at the Pew Charitable Trusts and the United States Institute of Peace, directing digital transformations and technical strategic partnerships.

He holds a master's degree in International Communications from American University, where he studied how digital networks strengthen diaspora and migrant communities, and a bachelor's degree in Film and Media Arts from Temple University, where he won the Senior Thesis Film Award. Tony served on the management team for Special Olympics DC from 2002 to 2019.
