Danielle Cooper
Senior Program Associate
Danielle Cooper is senior program associate for Public Knowledge.
Before joining Mellon, Danielle was director of the libraries, scholarly communications, and museums program at Ithaka S+R, a non-profit research organization. At Ithaka S+R her team focused on advancing the information needs of marginalized groups in response to the evolving technological environment. As part of that work she specialized in developing collaborations between information professionals and diverse teaching and learning communities, such as students who are currently incarcerated, Indigenous scholars, and community college instructors. This underlying mission built on her earlier work as a librarian and as an academic researcher of libraries and archives created by and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities.
She holds a BA and MI from the University of Toronto and a PhD from York University. She is a founding co-editor of Feral Feminisms, the independent, inter-media, peer reviewed, open access online journal.
