Theaster Gates on Museums of the Future

At the Mellon Foundation's 50th Anniversary Symposium last November, artist Theaster Gates asked us to imagine the future as a series of expanding concentric circles rather than a chronological line, and the museum as a space in which we gracefully and courageously recapture our past.
