Ramy Abbady

Research Associate

Prior to joining Mellon, Ramy worked in both higher education administration and research. As a student affairs professional, he worked in residential life, academic advising, and as a graduate program coordinator. During his doctoral program at New York University, Ramy conducted research on the racialized effects of the costs of public higher education, as well as work on English learners in secondary education. He also served as a teaching assistant for one of NYU’s largest undergraduate courses, Why Does College Cost So Much?

Ramy holds a bachelor's degree in educational studies from Vassar College and a master's degree in higher education and student affairs from the University of San Francisco. He is a doctoral candidate in sociology of education at New York University, where he was awarded the National Academy of Education/Spencer Foundation dissertation fellowship.
