Michael Shattner

Michael Shattner is senior executive assistant to Elizabeth Alexander, working closely with colleagues to support, organize, and facilitate all aspects of Dr. Alexander’s work at Mellon.

Prior to joining Mellon, Michael served in a number of roles as executive assistant to chief executives throughout the city across a wide swath of industries. A self-described “artist-warrior,” he is an actor and a musician. As an actor, Michael’s favorite roles have been Malvolio in Twelfth Night and Queen Margaret in the Henry VI plays. His instrument is the cello, and he can be heard frequently around the city playing with various ensembles.

He holds a BS in speech-theater from Northwestern University and recently completed a certificate in core musical skills at Juilliard.
