Jeffrey Jiménez-Kurlander
Manager, Strategic Learning & Evaluation
Jeffrey Jiménez-Kurlander is the manager, strategic learning & evaluation at the Mellon Foundation. In this role, he collaborates across the foundation to design and implement learning strategies that support strategic decision-making. He leverages quantitative and qualitative methods to assess programmatic impact, strengthen evaluative practices, and foster a culture of learning across Mellon’s grantmaking.
Prior to joining Mellon, Jeff was a learning & impact officer at the Surdna Foundation, where he led initiatives focused on learning, evaluation, and data infrastructure to advance racial equity. He spearheaded the development of a grantmaking data tool, implemented demographic data collection systems, guided strategic analyses of grantmaking portfolios and used data visualization to translate complex insights into actionable strategies. His work emphasized trust building as exemplified through participatory evaluation.
Jeff holds an MPA from NYU Wagner and a BA from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He serves on the boards of Solar Responders, a nonprofit supporting energy resilience in Puerto Rico, and the Technology Association of Grantmakers.
