Yasmeen Allen Martei

Yasmeen Allen Martei is a manager of strategic initiatives and planning in the Office of the President.  In this role, she serves as a strategic planner and project manager, collaborating with the President's team to shape and implement ongoing and new initiatives.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Martei was a member of the Creativity and Free Expression team at the Ford Foundation.  As the team's program associate, she managed various projects and initiatives, conducted field research, and monitored and assessed the team’s grantmaking practices and strategic alignment.  Before entering the field of philanthropy, Ms. Martei was an institutional fundraiser for organizations including Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation, Year Up New York, and Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy.

Ms. Martei is a graduate of the Professional Children's School, which she attended while training at the School of American Ballet at Lincoln Center.  She earned a BA in political science from Tufts University and a JD from The George Washington University Law School, where she received the J. B. and Maurice C. Shapiro University Public Service Award and the J. W. Saxe Memorial Prize.  She is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
