Erin Cantrell-Martinez is executive assistant to Emil J. Kang, program director for Arts and Cultural Heritage at The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2019, Ms. Cantrell-Martinez worked in the field of academic medicine as the executive assistant to the vice dean of academic affairs at Columbia University Medical Center and as the administrative secretary for the chief of hematology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She received her bachelor's degree from Sarah Lawrence College in liberal arts with concentrations in anthropology and music. During her junior year of college, she studied abroad in Florence, Italy where she studied Italian language, music, art, and history. She is a singer, songwriter, dancer, and performance artist who has performed in various venues throughout New York.
