Elizabeth Spenst

Elizabeth Spenst serves as a program assistant for the Higher Education and Scholarships in the Humanities program.  Prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Spenst worked on a digital humanities project on the memory of slavery in Portugal, where she was a visiting scholar at the University of Lisbon's Institute of Social Science.  She has held various nonprofit and philanthropic internships, most recently at the Ford Foundation's Creativity & Free Expression division.  Ms. Spenst holds a BA in African American studies from Yale University, where she was a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Research Fellow.
